FAQ
Below is a list of frequenty asked questions. Please check these before posting. I will be adding new questions as they come up.

SkyNations does not start what do I do?
There is a number of reasons why it may not be starting. First make sure you have the latest version from http://get.skynations.net and have downloaded and installed both of the following required runtimes:
XNA 4 Redistributable 4.0
DirectX Web Installer

If you are on Windows XP you will also need to install .NET 4 which you can download here.

You may also need to make sure you have the latest drivers for your Graphics Card or Integrated Chip.

If you find the game is still crashing on startup. You may need to disable any Antivirus that maybe removing files as false positives when you extract the client.

Finally, if it still does not run and you are on Windows Vista or higher. Run the game until it crashes, click the the Start button. In the search type in "Event Viewer", and click it. Once open, click "Windows Logs" on the right hand side bar then "Application" beneath it. Find the latest crash in this list related to SkyNations.exe and paste the error in this thread and I will attempt to help you.

I can't connect to any servers what can I do?
First of all, make sure you can't connect to the Official servers too(denoted by a gold coin next to them in the server list). Many player servers are setup without port forwarding and anyone outside their Network cannot connect to them. If you cannot connect to the Official servers, you may need to allow SkyNations.exe through your firewall or disable the firewall completely. It is important to note some workplaces, schools, university's and other public internet connection may have their own firewalls which will not let you connect.

If you are having trouble connecting to a local server. Try instead of clicking its entry on the server list, type in your local loopback IP which is "127.0.0.1" in the direct connection box and anyone on your network should connect to your machines IP on your router(not your internet IP) through the same box.

When I look up or when there is very little on screen the camera turns slowly how do I fix this?
Enabled VSync in the Graphics tab of the Options menu.

Could you post the .net error that appears next to the error you posted in Event Viewer?

Your integrated graphic's chip doesn't support many of the features the game needs to run. It may be worth updating its drivers though to make sure.

Well, it was a long shot but the driver update actually worked to get it to run at least. Thanks for the help Benjamin, I was thinking that the ex-wife had screwed me yet again by taking my gaming rig in the divorce.

Hi there...

When I try to start SkyNation via Desura I get the message "Program has stopped working". So I downloaded the latest client from your site, extracted it, tried to start it aaaand..nothing..it happens nothing..no error message, no nothing..

So I installed both programs / system applications (Directx and XNA4), disabled avira (antivirus software) aaaand nothing...

So here is the event log (it is in german, but I think you get the necessary details):

- EventData

Screens.Login..ctor(SkyNations.Game1) bei SkyNations.Game1.LoadContent() bei Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Game.Initialize() bei SkyNations.Game1.Initialize() bei Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Game.RunGame(Boolean) bei SkyNations.Program.Main(System.String[])

I hope that's what you're looking for and sorry for my english..
